Overview

Bozkırın Tınısı (The Tone of the Steppe) is an entry and finalist project for the logo competition organized by Municipality of Kırşehir (Türkiye). Kırşehir is one of the "UNESCO City of Music" among 47 cities in the world, since 2019.

The local music called "Bozlak" is a distinctive singing form that identifies with Kırşehir. Bozlak songs reflect love, bravery, manhood, separation, expedition, relations between tribes and sanctimony. This type of singing has become popular in the national music industry with increased recognition of the city nationwide. The main performers of Bozlaks namely Abdals (the term of "Abdal" refers to a specific group of local folk musicians in Middle Anatolia), are one of the most important communities in terms of Anatolian musical heritage with their specific ways of expression.

The concept of the logo is inspired by and dedicated to the city's five pioneer Abdals: Aşık Said, Muharrem Ertaş, Şemsi Yastıman, Çekiç Ali and Neşet Ertaş. The logo features five concentric waves in a circular form, symbolizing sound ripples. Each layer represents one of the five pioneer Abdals, merging tradition with a modern visual rhythm.
